MP Does Good

Clive Efford has shown some love to Plumstead Common. Thanks to my lovely listener who pointed me to his website. Take a look for yourselves.

I wrote to Clive and here is what he told me....

Local residents have told me that the developer who currently owns the Ship had told them originally that he wanted to open a pub restaurant. Had he stuck to that proposal I do not think that there would have been many objections. I know there are a few local who would like to see it turned into flats with no pub but I think the majority would like to see something that would add to the area.

The current proposals for what would effectively be a nightclub with loud recorded music open until 2.00 and 3.00 in the morning is not suitable for what is a quiet residential area.

I agree that a gastro pub would be an addition to the area. I do not think that objecting to the Bust 'Da' Rhymes application will out off any entrepreneur from opening such an establishment. Indeed it may force the developer to look again at his original plans.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to contact me about this important matter. I hope that you will not hesitate to contact me again if I can be of any further assistance.
